Houston hosts annual awards ceremony

HOUSTON – Family and friends of Houston High School students gathered in the school auditorium May 19, to watch the awarding of scholarships and certificates for 2015.

The following awards were given:

BancorpSouth Academic Achievement

These awards are given to students in grades 10-12 who have earned an overall average of not less than 90 with no individual semester grade less than 90 in core subjects.

FIRST YEAR AWARDS – Sophomores: Rodrigo Hernandez, Harley Nabors and Alex Springer. Juniors: Carley Bevels.Seniors: Brennan Byrne, Damien Fields, Kardazia Murry and Mary Kansas Sullivan.

SECOND YEAR AWARDS – Juniors Liza Boyer, Justin Hardin and Madison Mitchell. Seniors; Charlsi Allen, Robert Scott.

THIRD YEAR AWARDS – Diana Bedolla, Taylor Brand, Hannah Grimes and Kristen Marsh.

Social Studies – Kristen Marsh

Latin – Abbie Mitchell

French 1 – Courtney Earnest
